JAKARTA – Dunia saat ini tengah mengantisipasi penyebaran dan penularan varian baru virus corona B117 yang ditemukan di Inggris. Indonesia pun mempelajari varian baru virus ini agar dapat mengantisipasinya. Varian baru virus penyebab Covid-19 ini disebut dapat menyebar lebih cepat dari mutasi virus corona yang ada sebelumnya.
Hal ini dapat dilihat dari jumlah kasus Covid-19 di Inggris hingga 13 Desember 2020 sebanyak 1.108 kasus dengan varian baru ini yang diidentifikasi di wilayah Inggris bagian selatan dan timur. Berikut empat fakta seputar varian baru virus corona yang ditemukan di Inggris, yang kini diantisipasi Indonesia.
1. Lebih cepat menular
Ketua Satgas Covid-19 Pengurus Besar Ikatan Dokter Indonesia (PB IDI) Zubairi Djoerban mengatakan, varian baru virus corona ini lebih cepat menular dari mutasi virus corona sebelumnya. Penularan varian baru ini bisa mencapai 71 persen lebih cepat. Namun, varian baru ini tidak lebih mematikan.
“Kita lihat virus yang baru ini menular jauh lebih cepat 71 persen dari virus sebelumnya. Itu yang harus kita ingat. Para ahli juga yakin memang virus B117 mudah menular, namun tidak lebih mematikan,” kata Zubairi, dalam talkshow BNPB, Selasa (29/12/2020).
Zubairi mengatakan, bukti cepatnya penularan varian baru ini akan terlihat dari kenaikan kasus Covid-19 di Inggris dalam 2 Minggu terakhir. Selain itu, varian baru virus corona ini sudah menyebar di sejumlah negara di luar Inggris.
“Sudah (ditemukan) di Belanda, Australia , Denmark, Italia, Singapura, Islandia, dan Jerman,” ujar Zubairi.
2. Bisa dideteksi PCR
Varian baru virus corona ini dapat dipastikan bisa dideteksi melalui tes polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Zubairi menjelaskan, tes PCR dapat mendeteksi tiga bagian dari virus, sehingga varian baru virus corona ini tetap bisa dideteksi melalui PCR.
“Mungkin gampangnya kalau virus itu dianggap orang, kepala bajunya sama kakinya, nah ini sekarang virusnya ganti baju tetapi masih bisa dideteksi kepala dengan PCR,” ucap Zubairi. Pernyataan Zubairi ini sekaligus membantah kabar hoaks di media sosial yang menyebutkan varian baru Covid-19 ini tidak bisa dideteksi melalui PCR.

3. Tak berpengaruh pada vaksin
Varian baru virus corona harus terus diteliti dan hingga saat ini belum ada indikasi yang menunjukkan vaksin tidak efektif melawan virus corona B117.
“Mutasi virus atau strain virus yang baru ini sedang terus diteliti belum ada indikasi menyebabkan ketidakefektifan vaksin,” kata Juru Bicara Satgas Covid-19 Wiku Adisasmito.
Kendati demikian, Wiku mengatakan, para ahli di Indonesia harus terus mengikuti perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan berkaitan dengan varian baru virus corona tersebut. Sebab, virus corona secara alamiah akan selalu bermutasi saat melakukan penularan.
“Jadi sebenarnya kalau kita ingin mencegah virus ini supaya tidak mutasi, maka jangan diberikan kesempatan untuk bisa menular dari manusia ke manusia,” ucap Wiku.
4. Penutupan pintu masuk Indonesia
Terakhir, Pemerintah Indonesia memutuskan untuk memberlakukan larangan masuk bagi warga negara asing (WNA) dari seluruh negara ke Indonesia pada 1-14 januari 2021, guna mengantisipasi penyebaran varian baru virus corona yang ditemukan di Inggris. Kebijakan ini diambil berdasarkan hasil rapat kabinet pada Senin, (28/12/2020).
“Saya ulangi untuk menutup sementara dari tanggal 1 sampai 14 Januari 2021 masuknya warga negara asing atau WNA, dari semua negara ke Indonesia,” kata Retno yang ditayangkan kanal YouTube Sekretariat Presiden, Senin.
Di samping itu, pemerintah mewajibkan WNA yang tiba di Indonesia sejak 28 sampai dengan 31 Desember untuk menunjukkan hasil negatif tes usap (PCR) dari negara asal yang berlaku, maksimal 2×24 jam sebelum jam keberangkatan. Surat tersebut harus dilampirkan pada saat pemeriksaan Kesehatan. Apabila hasil tesnya negatif maka WNA melakukan karantina wajib selama lima hari terhitung sejak tanggal kedatangan.
